40ft reefer specifications
Internal volume
A 40ft reefer gives roughly 2,000 cubic feet of usable refrigerated space — enough for several pallet rows of frozen or chilled product.
Temperature range
Working 40ft reefers hold -20°F to +70°F on the digital controller, so the same unit switches from freezer to chiller duty as needed.
Power requirements
Most 40ft reefers run 460V 3-phase, 30–60 amp. Single-phase converters and generator packages are available for sites without 3-phase service.
Insulation & floor
3–4 inches of foamed-in-place polyurethane insulation in walls, roof and floor, plus a T-floor for airflow under pallets.
PTI tested
Every working 40ft reefer is pre-trip inspected before shipping and ships with its PTI certificate recording test results.
